Rooted in the pursuit of musical tone during their college band days, Jason and Billy were brought together by their shared passion for music. To provide performers with more professional and distinctive instruments, Jason, drawing on over two decades of experience in guitar amplifier craftsmanship and brand collaborations, partnered with Billy with the mission to further explore and advance the art of handmade craftsmanship.
At the 2016 NAMM Show, a new brand concept emerged from conversations between Jason and his American friend Arttan. The name "Billy" was inspired by Rockabilly--- a retro music style, and also the name of Jason’s wife. This brand not only embodies the mutual appreciation and resonance among musicians but also reflects Jason's unique vision for amplifier design: integrating the soul of rock music into a vintage aesthetic.
Since 2025, Jason has launched a new public welfare initiative—MUSIC ARTIST SUPPORT PROJECT, which aimed at sponsoring funds, platforms and better equipment for bands. The project has already organized band competitions in South Korea and Thailand, achieving remarkable results.
